Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy / Confidentiality will be maintained with counselling practices and records management maintained in accordance with best practices and policies recommended through the Australian Counselling Association.

Three basic situations that override confidentiality apply:

  • Where you have given documented permission to share your information to others to assist in treatment
  • Where required by legislation
  • Where required by a court of competent jurisdiction

For those with aqua-phobia which will involve progressive exposure therapy in a pool, it will be a condition of treatment that I am able to disclose to swimming centre staff (as book lanes) and inform lifeguards. Panic attacks can occur even in shallow water and this is purely for client safety. We will of course discuss this on intake and your documented permission will be sought.
